Am I Not a Whole Baby?
So tomorrow is the last day of this month, which is when Whole Foods promised to contact the winners of the photo contest by. Daddy hasn’t heard from them yet. Mommy offers two possibilities: not attractive enough of a model or amateur photography. Translation: ugly baby or incompetent daddy. Guess we will wait and see.
Yucky “Summer Vegetable Dinner”
I had a cranky afternoon today. I woke up at 2PM after napping only for an hour, and when Mommy put me in my crib at 4:15PM for my second nap, I had no intention of sleeping. Needless to say by the time my dinner time rolled around at about 5:30PM, I was cranky—very, very cranky.
Mommy and Daddy tried to feed me a quick dinner and put me to sleep earlier than my usual schedule. To try something...

Homemade Raspberries and Apple
I knew that bananas could be constipating, but, oh boy, I found out how constipating it is this morning. I will spare you the graphic details—no photos here!—but Daddy decided to cut off my rice cereal with mashed banana this morning. He was looking around the house for a fruit alternative and found some frozen organic raspberries. I had the puréed raspberries in my rice cereal this morning, and...
Repeat after me: “Ahhhhhhhhhhh…” Again. “Ahhhhhhhhhhh…” And again. “Ahhhhhhhhhhh…”

Cheerios! I will you gobble you up! At some point! Hopefully soon!
Cheerios vs. Xander
0 into the mouth for approximately 10 on the table at lunch…
0 into the mouth for approximately 10 on the table at dinner…
A video clip of my epic struggle against Cheerios will be posted soon!
Cheerios vs. Xander
0 into the mouth for approximately 12 on the table…
I’ll get this pincer grasp thing…eventually.
Update: Clarification—I can definitely pick them up in my fists, but I can’t quite place them in my mouth… They all fall short of my mouth on to my bib, fall on the floor or end up getting stuck on my slobbered hands.
A quick update…
Lots of things happening these days—I can’t even keep track sometimes:
Daddy made me a big batch of puréed acorn squash last Tuesday, and it’s delicious (even Mommy agrees, and she hates squashes). He’s making a batch of peas today.
Uhhhh…I pooped in my swimming diaper during the last day of my Seamonkey swimming class…Oops! Sorry, Daddy. But I also went down a big water slide that day.
I’ve...
My second album on Picasa—Xander II—is getting a bit large. So, I’m asked Daddy to start a new album for me. I will post a link with new pictures soon. Meanwhile, enjoy a slideshow of pictures in Xander II!
Dinner Time Laughing: Daddy’s Quest to Identify What’s Making Me Laugh
Crawling to Sigi!
My last meal yesterday evening: circa 7PM MDT
My first meal this morning: circa 7:30AM MDT
‘Nuff said.
George has no tail?
Daddy and I have a good morning routine these days. I wake up at six. We hang out in bed for a little bit. Then I have my morning bottle with Curious George and Sid the Science Kid. I like both shows and I learn a lot from them!
But I just realized yesterday that Curious George, who is a monkey, has no tail!!!
I think they are just not as good at making shows about reading than shows about math...
A Shout-out to Chicago!
I generally know everyone who follows my adventures through this Tumble log. But there is a mysterious follower in Chicago, that I can’t really identify. Well, whoever you are, thanks for following my stories and feel free to leave me comments!
Am I a Whole Baby?
Daddy selected and submitted his three entries for Whole Food Market’s Whole Baby Baby’s Favorite Food photo contest. Here are the links to the three entries on his Flickr site:
Mmmmmmmm
Yum!
More Please!
All the submissions for the contest can be viewed here. The contest ends this Friday, and they will contact the winners by the end of the month. Wish us luck!
Mmmm…homemade carrots!
Daddy made me carrots at home yesterday, instead of feeding me the Earth’s Best kind. He steamed two organically grown carrots, ground them up using a food processor with a bit of filtered water.
Daddy’s homemade version was:
Better colored—brighter and redder
Better textured—not mushy and watery
Better flavored—sweeter and more vibrant taste
So, Daddy’s version wins! The only thing his...
Sticky Mirror
Me: [on the bathroom counter after Daddy gave me a bath] Mommy, are you done lotioning my hands?
Mommy: [lotioning me with Burt's Bees buttermilk baby lotion] Yes, sweetie, I am!
Me: Can I touch the mirror now?
Mommy: No, sweetie.
Me: Why not? I wanna touch the mirror!
Mommy: Because Mommy just cleaned it two days ago, and your hands are sticky from the lotion.
Me: But it looks so fun! I wanna see how it feels!
Mommy: No, sweetie, you're going to make a mess on the mirror. Besides, you know what it feels like already!
Me: You're no fun.... Mommy, are you done lotioning my feet?
Will this be my “in” for becoming a Hollywood... →
Daddy better do a damn good job of taking photos of me eating, which I’ve been doing so well. Excuse my language, but this is some serious business we’re talking about here.) Our entries will be linked here by next Friday.
Comment Away!
Due to popular demands—you know who you are (good thing the English language doesn’t distinguish between second person singular and second person plural)—I have implemented a commenting system on my log! The underlying engine is provided through Disqus, which requires logging in. But the good thing is that you most likely already have an ID/password that will work with the system. So, comment...
