Firsts and a Second

Today was the first time in my almost-two-years of life that Mommy/Daddy had to drive me to have me fall asleep. I refused to nap in my own bed. I refused to fall asleep while Mommy walked me nicely. Then I finally fell asleep within three minutes after Daddy started driving me around town. (Then Daddy brought me home and transferred me into my own bed.)

Today was the first time that I peed on a carpet in the living room (well, on a carpet anywhere). I was running around and playing naked in the living room—I don’t usually do that, I was getting ready for bed—and I started peeing under my play table. Mommy promptly sat me down on my potty, which leads me to my “second.”

Today was the second time I peed in my potty. It’s been a while, and I thought only Daddy was keeping track, but I guess I have been too.

A Quick Update…

I think I’m getting older!

  • Two Sundays ago, I said a bunch of new words—book, cat, toes, etc. All very important words in my life!
  • Last week on a couple of different occasions, I walked several steps on my own. In the last few days, I’ve been a little lazy to replicate that.
  • I’m sleeping better at night. I’ve fallen asleep nicely without crying two nights in a row, and I’ve slept through the night a few times this past week.

Hooray for me!

I think I’m going through sleep transition…

So until recently, I’ve been a pretty good sleeper, especially during the day. I used to go down for my first nap around 9AM and sleep for about 1.5 to 2 hours. Then I would go down for my second nap around 2PM and sleep for about 1.5 to 2 hours. Not anymore….

Now, I fall asleep around 10:30AM—maybe—and sleep for maybe an hour. Then, I try to fall asleep around 3PM, hoping for another hour (maybe the hoping is done my Daddy and Mommy). But I’ve been crying for 15 minutes in my crib…. Apparently, going from two naps a day to one nap a day is one of the hardest transitions for everyone involved. Daddy says he’s not looking forward to it.

Update: Okay, I fell asleep finally after about 20-25 minutes of screaming/crying.
